Master Makarov sent Gajeel on a job, though he wouldn’t tell you what type of job, or what he had to do, you had a feeling it was something about your old guild. You knew that Fairy Tail was after them for some reason, but now Gajeel had a different reason to go after them other than following orders from the master. He wanted to protect you, but to do that he had to make sure that the dark guild was disbanded and that no one could get to you to hurt you ever again….

Gajeel left you in the care of Juvia. He knew that this mission would take a couple of days and he didn’t want you to be alone and worried.

“Come on now (Name), he’s only trying to protect you.” Juvia said as she saw the worried expression on your face. “We both came from the same dark guild you know… and Fairy Tail had no problems taking us in. He knows what it’s like to go through something… well not quit like this, but similar…” She smiled a bit.

“I know… I just don’t want him to get hurt…” You adverted your worried eyes from hers trying to keep yourself together. “I want to help him, I want to be by his side when he takes down my old guild. And my old guild’s master, Daven.”

Juvia thought about it for a moment. If Gajeel and Pantherlilly were already there, and if she goes as well… you would be pretty safe… “Well, we could go check on him. You now where your guild hall is located. We could just… go see…” She smiled a bit.

“What? Are you serious!? Gajeel would be so angry!”

“At me. Not at you.” She said and took you by the hand and headed toward the train station.

Gajeel sniffed the air as a familiar scent filled his senses. “Smell something?” Pantherlilly asked.

“Yeah, smells like (Name), but it must be a residual scent.” He said as he scanned the empty dark guild hall. He looked at the floor, stained with blood and who knows what… the bar was littered with broken glass and dirty empty mugs.

“Looks like no one has been here since that night we found (Name).” Pantherlilly said as he too scanned the hall. “It’s deserted.”

“I don’t think it is.” Gajeel said as he walked further in. “I can smell someone else too, it was a scent (Name) had on her when we found her. I think it might be the master of this damned guild. I think he’s here still.”

“And you are correct. Black Steel Gajeel.” A voice echoed through the hall. “I heard you mention (Name). It’s a shame really, she is quite gifted with here magic.” Gajeel and Pantherlilly stood back to back with Pantherlilly in his lager form. They stayed silent, though Gajeel’s anger was getting to him. “I bet Makarov didn’t expect to send you out here to take us down only to bring back a wounded wizard instead. I bet he was disappointed in seeing her.”

Gajeel growled. “You must be Daven then… Well I’ll tell you what! When (Name) woke up, and told me what you had done to her, and the things she was forced to do in this guild… I got more angry than I have ever felt in my entire life. I couldn’t wait to get back here and take you down for her!”

“Pity, because she always threatened to take me down herself. She will be so disappointed.” The man appeared before them, he kept his arms crossed over his chest, his facial expression just held a scowl.

“Sheesh and everyone makes fun of me for having an ugly mug..” Gajeel snickered. “Well (Name) Might get mad at me, or be disappointed that she didn’t get to take you down. Because I’m not going anywhere!”

“We’ll see about that.” He said and like that he had disappeared.

Gajeel could still smell him though knowing that h was still near. He looked around rapidly ready and waiting. “There.” He said with a smirk as he lunged forward and threw an iron dragon lance towards the invisible man. The end of the lance hot something hard and a cracking noise echoed through the empty hall.

“NO! IT CAN’T BE!” Daven as his glass that surrounded him began to crack and shatter. “HOW COULD YOU BE STRONG ENOUGH TO BREAK MY GLASS!?”

“Iron is stronger than glass dumb ass.” Gajeeel retracted his lance only to find shards of Daven’s glass embedded into his arm and hand. “S-Shit… what did you do!?”

Daven chuckled darkly. “Oh just embedded a few shards of glass that were laced with poison.”

“Gajeel… your arm..” Pantherlilly said shocked as the veins in Gajeel’s arm began to turn purple.

Gajeel ripped a strip of his tunic, using this teeth and his free hand he tired the strip tightly around his upper arm, temporarily stopping the poison from spreading to the rest of his body. “This will have to do for now…” He groaned as the pain in his arm just got worse.

You and Juvia made it to town. You lead her though the familiar place, hoping that no one would recognize you… You lead her to the edge of town to a wooded area. The woods were thick with underbrush but to Juvia’s amazement you swiftly made you way through without struggle. “Almost there..” You said as you looked back at her.

“Alright.” She said as she made it to your side. “Don’t worry alright? I’m sure they are ok. “

You nodded, wanting to believe her, but you still had to worry, you knew everything that Daven was capable of.

Eventually the guild hall came into view. It wasn’t anything like Fairy Tail’s hall, but it was big enough for a numerous dark wizards to call home.

“IRON DRAGON ROAR!”

You and Juvia both stopped in your tracks as you heard Gajeel, and along with his roar the whole back side of the guild hall blew to smithereens. The two of you raced inside, entering through the giant hole Gajeel made.

You gasped at the sight. Gajeel was injured and looked as if he was going to pass out. Daven got up from being hit with the dragon roar. He stumbled a bit and turned. “Oh (Name), it’s nice of you to come. I was just telling Gajeel here about you.”

“(N-Name)… what are… you doing here…?” Gajeel struggled to speak.

“G-Gajeel… you’ve been poisoned…”

Daven chuckled. “Yes he has…” He held out his hand towards Gajeel ready to attack. You and Juvia both bolted towards Gajeel, but you made it there first with a bright light illuminating the entire room as Daven’s glass shards stopped in mid air right before they reached Gajeel.

When the blinding light dissipated Juvia and Gajeel both looked up at you with wide eyes. “(Name)…” Gajeel said stumbling to your side. “Are you alright…?”

“Y-Yes… I-I… think so…” You said looking at the glass shards before you in disbelief. “I was unaware that I could do that…”

“There are many spells that you don’t know (Name).” Daven said a bit pissed now that you had stopped him. “I never expected you to just do it, I figured it would take you a while to even know you had the extra power. It seems I was wrong, which only makes me want you under my control even more! You will regret the day you ran from here and you will regret attacking me!” The floor began to rumble. Gajeel had to hold himself up on Pantherlilly so he wouldn’t fall over. You and Juvia stepped back as Daven began to glow a dark purple color.

Gajeeland Juvia’s eyes went wide. They recognized the sensation from their old guild master…

Gajeel pushed himself off of Pantherlilly and used what was left of his strength to defend you. A blast of energy filled the room but no one was hit but it as Gajeel stood his ground, his body fully covered in his iron dragon scales.

The dust settled… and all you heard was a loud THUD as Daven’s body hit the floor. Gajeel, still covered in his iron scales, turned to you, Pantherlilly and Juvia with a smirk. “Heh, that’ll show him…” he said just as he passed out and landed on the floor.

“GAJEEL!” You cried out rushing to him.

Pantherlilly picked him up. “Lets go now!” He said as you all raced back to town.

“Are you hurt anywhere (Name)?” Lucy asked.

“No.. I think I’m alright…” You said lowly.

“He’ll alright (Name).” Mira said as she placed a hand on your shoulder. You instantly fell asleep and she took you into the infirmary and placed you in bed next to Gajeel.

“Is she alright?” Wendy asked.

“Yes, just sleeping.” Mira said. “It will be better for her to sleep this off than to pace and worry.”

“Well, I got most of the poison out…” Wendy said.

“Good. You should rest yourself now.” Mira smiled.

Wendy nodded as she left the room. Mira made sure that the two of you were covered and comfortable before leaving herself.

…

The guild hall was a bit silent, no one wanted to disturb the two of you. Juvia and Pantherlilly gave their statements to Makarov who was livid that someone had hurt his children.

Several hours passed, Mira and a few others took turns checking up on you and Gajeel. Wendy came up to do another treatment on Gajeel now that she had her strength back.

“Wendy?” Gajeel asked as he slowly opened his eyes.

“How are you feeling?” She asked quietly.

“Is (Name) hurt too?” He asked ignoring her question and sitting up seeing you next to him.

“No, Mira just put a sleeping spell on her so she wouldn’t be worried while you were still out.”

Gajeel looked at his arm. The purple streaks were now gone. “Thanks for doing this Wendy.”

“Not a problem at all Gajeel, you know I’m happy to help.” She smiled proudly.

You stirred a bit taking Gajeel’s and Wendy’s attention from each other to you. “Gajeel…” You said quietly as you slowly opened your eyes. “Gajeel?”

“Hey, ‘bout time you woke up…” He grinned.

“Y-Your arm!” you said sitting up quickly.

“Yep, Wendy here cured me. No need to worry any more.”

“Oh Wendy thank you!”

“It really wasn’t any trouble.” Wendy smiled brightly.

“I’m so glad you’re alright Gajeel.” You said pulling him to you and pressing your lips to his instantly.

Poor Wendy sat there for a moment awkwardly and then decided that she should leave. “Ok.. well now that everyone is all better… I-I’m going to go now…” She said blushing from embarrassment.

Gajeel was only able to give her a thumbs up as she left the room making sure the door closed all the way.

“Are they up?” Juvia and Pantherlilly asked seeing Wendy leaving the room with an odd look on her face.

“I-I… Y-Yes…” She stuttered. Juvia reached for the door knob but Wendy stopped her.  “N-No don’t do that!”

“What, why not?” Juvia asked.

Wendy tried to hold it in.. .but she just couldn’t…. “THEY STARTED KISSING! AT FIRST IT WAS JUST A SMALL KISS BUT I THINK I SAW TONGUES SO I LEFT! I DIDN’T KNOW WHAT TO DO!”

Pantherlilly chuckled as he shook his head. “Gajeel…”

“You poor thing…” Juvia said as she walked Wendy back down to the main hall.

….

Meanwhile in the infirmary~

“G-Gajeel~”

“Damn… this bed isn’t big enough for this…”

“Yours is though~”

He smirked picking you up. “We have to sneak out though…”

You looked over at the window. “Well, what are you waiting for?”

“Gi-Hii~”
