“Berwald where are you taking me?” You questioned once again as he drove off to an unknown location.

“You will see.” He said. He had a light smile as he looked forward at the road.

“Well, how much more driving do we have?” You asked as the curiosity ate away at your nerves.

“J’st a little bit longer.” He said as he drove on.

And soon enough you came to a small pack, one that not very many people go to do to the fact that it was so secluded.

“Oh yeah.. today is such a nice day. A little hike would be awesome.” You smiled as he parked the car.

The two of you got out and headed off down the trail. You linked arms with him as you admired the wildlife and the fresh air.

But Berwald seemed… a bit tense…

“Are you alright?” You asked sensing the tension he was giving off.

He nodded but didn’t say a word as you walked a bit further.

Soon you came across a pond. “Oh look a little frog!” You said as you watched it jump into the water with a small splash.

Berwald was behind you a bit not admiring the scene of the pond and it’s frogs… but you.. your smile, the way you watched the frogs and other animal life, your hair gleaming in the beam of sunlight that broke through the tree cover… “(Name)..” He finally said.

You turned to him with a smile but.. he wasn’t standing like you had thought… He was down on one knee holding out a ring for you.

“Oh Berwald…” You said breathlessly

“(Name), will you do me the honor of b’coming m’wife?”

“YES!” You shrieked in happiness as you practically knocked him to the ground even more than he already was.

He chuckled a bit as he slid the ring on your finger.

“ALRIGHT PERFECT SHOT!”

You looked over to see Tino and Matthias in the bushes with cameras.

You couldn’t help but to smile and giggle at the two.

It was your one year wedding anniversary, but… it wasn’t going to be spent like most people would spend it…

Though, Berwald THOUGHT it was going to be a romantic night for two… he was surely wrong..

Instead of going out you made dinner. You set the plate in front of Berwald. “I made baby corn, baby carrots, with a side or babybell cheese, baby back ribs smothered in sweet baby Ray’s sauce.”

He eyed you curiously as you sat down across from him.

And then it clicked… “You’re… pregnant?”

“Yes!” You said happily “I am!”

He didn’t even care about the food or the ‘romantic’ night at this moment. He stood from his seat and scooped you up spinning you around and hugging you close. “I can’t wait.” He placed a large hand on your still small belly and kissed you lovingly.

“Faster pappa!”

You peeked into the living room to see what the commotion was all about. And the sight you saw made you giggle. Berwald was on all fours with your daughter Minni-Bell on his back crawling around the floor like he was a horse.

Minni-Bell giggled with the biggest smile and held onto Berwald’s shirt tightly.

Berwald stopped suddenly and Minni-Bell slipped off his back. “That was fun pappa!”

“Mamma! Pappa was being a horsey!”

“I see that.” You giggled “Looks like fun.”

Berwald sat up, pulled the little girl into his lap and roughed up her blond hair.

“Dinner will be ready soon you two, so clam down a bit alright?” You said entering the kitchen again.

After dinner and Minni-Bell was asleep you were trying to get ready for bed when Berwald began kissing the back of your neck. “Want to g’for a ride?” he whispered in your year.

You bit your lower lip and turned to face him. “That sounds like fun.” You smirked.

“So there is a baby in your belly?” Minni-Bell asked curiously.

“There is. And soon you will be a big sister.” You smiled

“How did the baby get in there?” She asked

Berwald practically choked on his drink when she asked. “Umm well…”

“ALRIGHT UNCLE MATTHIAS IS HERE!”

Minni-Bell dropped the subject and raced up to him and Tino giving them both hugs.

You and Berwald both gave sighs of relief for the moment glad that you didn’t have to answer that questing right this moment.

Berwald leaned over and kissed your cheek.

“Hey.. uhh… (Name)?”

You looked up from your picnic bench at the familiar face. But, this time… you weren’t afraid.

“Hello Chris.” You said monotone

Berwald however, stood from his seat and placed himself between you and Chris with his arms crossed over his chest. “Leave.” He said sternly.

“I-I was just saying hi… nothing else…” Chris said panicking a bit.

Minni-Bell saw the strange man and instantly did not like him. “HEY MISTER!” She shouted standing between Chris and Berwald, surprising everyone. “IF MY PAPPA SAY LEAVE! THEN YOU LEAVE!” She crossed her arms over her chest just like Berwald was doing.

Berwald pulled her back gently so she was further away from Chris.

Chris nodded. “Alright then. I understand.” He said as he turned away. “Just so you know I’m sorry!” He shouted not looking back as he waved a bit and then disappeared as he continued to walk away.

“ALRIGHT MINNI-BELL HAS SOME SPUNK!” Matthias shouted

“She sure does! Protecting her mamma, just like her pappa does.” Tino said with a happy smile.

You knelt down in front of Minni-Bell and hugged her. “Thank you sweetie.”

Everyone was asleep. Except Berwald that is. You and Minni-Bell cuddled in the bed as Berwald held a sleeping baby boy in his arms.

“Hey..” Tino entered the room with a whisper. “Don’t worry it’s just me…” He said closing the door behind him.

Berwald shifted a bit so Tino could get a better look of the baby.

“Looks just like her, what’s his name?” Tino asked still whispering.

“Bernard.” Berwald said.

“He’s going to be big like you. I can tell.” Tino said as he got out a gift. “Got this for Minni-Bell.” He said placing a small white dog stuffed animal in her sleeping arms. “And I got Bernard this rattle.” He said taking out a reindeer shaped rattle and placing it in the crib for the moment.

“Tack.” (Thank you) Berwald said quietly.

“ALRIGHT LET’S SEE THE LITTLE PRINCE!” Matthias burst into the room.

Bernard was scared awake and began to cry. You and Minni-Bell were woken up as well. “Really?” You asked sleepily. “You two get out I have to feed him…” You said as Berwald handed you Bernard. Minni-Bell crawled into Berwald’s lap and fell asleep again with her stuffed dog. Tino pushed Matthias out the door and you began to feed Bernard.

Berwald smiled. “Jag älskar dig.” (I love you)

“I love you too Berwald. So very much..”
